It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a squad that has won it all.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their hitters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a challenging time because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was underway.

"A chance to play and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this World Cup want to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
