19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
He saved four early opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
