The team Veterans Over 35s are situated in southern Manchester and play in the Cheshire-based Veterans Division Top Division.

Their lineup this campaign includes 9 former Premier League footballers, with a combined nearly 1,800 top-flight matches.

"I warn my centre-back 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"That movement is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

'Surreal Experience

Along with Cisse's six scores on his first game, Ireland has netted eight in three games for the side, while Boyd scored 5 on his first appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, notched a triple in one game up front.

Wythenshawe are top of the Top Tier with three victories from three and a goal difference of plus nineteen.

Paul Barrow, thirty-eight, who plays on the wing for the opposition, faced ex- Wigan full-back Maynor Figueroa on the weekend - and had to explain his young boy who Heskey was.

Figueroa has appeared at 2 World Cups for Honduras, in addition to playing in over 200 top-flight games.

"The news was spreading like a rumor they had all these ex-Premier League stars," remarked Barrow.

"I think I was a little awestruck facing Figueroa to be honest.

"Even Heskey came on and he's got 60-odd English caps.

"Our side held our own for a good 20 mins but then we had a player sent off and it was hard.

"Our group really have not stopped chatting about it - I was calling my mum and sibling on the journey home.

"The opponents were all friendly, shaking our hands after the match - it was like facing a group of normal fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the return fixture."
